This solution can change the display subtitles via Ethernet, USB, and Bluetooth. It supports single-color LED up to 80K points and dual-color LED up to 40K points. It has an independent power supply Calendar RTC. When the host computer is powered off, the RTC can still record time and work normally.
The reference design solutions launched this time include the NUC472 Ethernet solution and the M452 streamlined solution. The NUC472 Ethernet solution can change the display subtitles through Ethernet, USB, and Bluetooth. It supports single-color LEDs up to 80K points and dual-color LEDs up to 40K points. The system block diagram is as follows:
The M452 streamlined solution can change the display subtitles via USB and Bluetooth. It supports single-color LEDs up to 32K points and dual-color LEDs up to 16K points. The system block diagram is as follows:
Both solutions also support the function of regularly changing the display screen using RTC. Bluetooth can remotely change the display content through mobile phones and computers. Nuvoton also provides an Android version of the App for reference.
Program features
Nuvoton's NuMicro ARM Cortex-M4 series can support a wide operating voltage of 2.2~5.5V, which can save LDO and two 74245 chips, reducing BOM cost and circuit complexity.
Support USB Full Speed 2.0 to update LED display content.
Supports SPI interface to control LED boards, which can control 62 dual-color 16K dots at the highest speed. SPI supports PDMA function, which can save a lot of CPU running time.
Supports independent power supply Calendar RTC. When the main computer is powered off, the RTC can still record time and work normally.
Support SPI Flash function, SPI can support PDMA function, accelerate the reading and writing of SPI Flash and reduce CPU intervention, which can save a lot of CPU running time.
Supports UART printing information function, M452 UART FIFO has 16 bytes, has the ability to send and receive data at high speed, and is very suitable for debugging through UART.
NuMicro has unique encryption and program protection to protect programs from being stolen.
