DER-245 - 50 W Auxiliary / Standby Supply

Overview

This document is an engineering report describing a 50 W power supply using the TOP267EG. The power supply achieves >80% efficiency at 100 VAC 50Hz, full load output current of 10 A, without the need for secondary synchronous rectification. The EMI section is not designed for typical 50 W power supplies. Select EMI components similar to the input stage of a 200 W power supply unit. This is done to simulate the EMI level losses of a typical 200 W PSU, where the flyback converter would be the backup/auxiliary part of the complete system PSU. A 10 ohm NTC is also used to include the additional losses associated with any surge limitations in the final system.
