The NB681 is a fully integrated high frequency synchronous rectified step-down switch mode converter with 2-bit VID, designed for V1.0A, VCCIO, PRIMCORE, EDRAM and EOPIO for IMVP8 applications. It provides a very compact solution to achieve 6A continuous output current and 7.5A peak output current over a wide input supply range. Based on MPS proprietary switching loss reduction technology and internal Low Ron power MOSFET, the NB681 operates with high efficiency over a wide output current load range. The adaptive constant on-time (COT) control mode provides fast transient response and simplifies loop stabilization. The DC auto-tuning loop provides good load and line regulation. The NB681 also provides a low power mode for saving power in a low power state and an ultrasonic mode to avoid audible noise. Comprehensive protection features include OC limiting, OVP, UVP and thermal shutdown. The converter requires a minimum number of external components and is available in a QFN 2x3 package.
