Overview

This is a USB Blaster hardware firmware  based on the CH552G, available at https://github.com/xjtuecho/CH552Nano/tree/main/FW
. This firmware, from the user echo, is said to be the fastest CH552G USB Blaster currently available, with actual testing showing speeds about 2/3 of my previous FT245+FPGA version. The hardware uses an SN74AVC4T245PWRE4 for level conversion, theoretically supporting adaptive voltage from 1.2V to 3.3V target boards, but I haven't tested this myself, only on my EPM240.
 
The PCB is meticulously designed, based on a Type-C interface, with a PHB 2.0 connector on the ribbon cable side to save space. For IDC interfaces, a corresponding adapter cable is needed. The PCB is small and elegant, requiring no external casing. A transparent heat-shrink tubing is sufficient, resulting in a very clean and attractive design.
The board features a short USB download port, compatible with PH2.0 connectors. For firmware upgrades or to upgrade older CPUs, simply short the corresponding two pads. A 2.0 pitch pad is also included for the UART port; an external PH2.0 connector can be soldered on for other applications.
