MAXREFDES67#: Universal input micro PLC

 
Overview

The MAXREFDES67# reference design is a complete, general-purpose analog input board suitable for industrial applications . The unique 24-bit front end supports bipolar voltage and current, resistance temperature detector ( RTD ) and thermocouple (TC) inputs. MAXREFDES67# provides Maxim Integrated's ultra-small size micro PLC solution with an effective resolution of up to 22.3 bits and a temperature error as low as ±0.1% in the range of -40°C to 150°C.

For increased ease of use, an innovative system architecture switches all signals on and off the board, regardless of connection type, without the need for jumpers or additional wiring to the connector. In addition, all signal chain elements in the system support Maxim Integrated's beyond-rails functionality. Over-the-rail reduces the requirement for large power supplies, allowing each component to support larger input voltages while operating from a low-voltage power supply.

The board features a micro USB interface for quick connection to a PC for evaluation. Additionally, the board operates on a 24V power supply, either from a power supply or from the AC-DC wall adapter provided with the board.
