This transmitter uses a 741 op amp as a high-gain audio amplifier, which is driven by a tiny phone. The output of the 741 is coupled to Q1, which acts as a driver for the LED light. Potentiometer RI is the gain control of the amplifier. For best emission performance, tiny trimmer resistor R6 allows adjustment of Q1 base bias.
