AXP173 is a highly integrated power system management chip. For applications involving single-cell lithium batteries ( lithium ion or lithium polymer ) and requiring multiple power conversion outputs, it provides a complete power solution that is easy to use and can be flexibly configured to fully meet the needs of Today's increasingly complex application processor systems require relatively complex and precise control of power supplies.
AXP173 internally integrates an adaptive USB-Compatible charger, 2- way step-down converter (Buck DC-DC converter) ,
4- way linear voltage regulator (LDO) , voltage / current / temperature monitoring and other multi-channel 12-Bit ADC . To ensure the safety and stability of the power system, AXP173 also
integrates over / under voltage (OVP/UVP) , over temperature (OTP) , over current (OCP) and other protection circuits.
AXP173 has three input capabilities including external adapter, USB and battery. Its Intelligent Power Select (
IPS™) circuit can safely and transparently distribute power between USB and external AC adapter, lithium battery and application system load, and The application system can also work normally even when there is only external input power but no battery ( or the battery is over-discharged / damaged ) .
AXP173 provides a two-wire serial communication interface for communication with the host : Two Wire Serial Interface (TWSI) . The application processor
can turn on or off certain power outputs, set their voltages, access internal registers and more through this interface. Various measurement data ( including Fuel
Gauge) . High-precision ( 0.5% ) power measurement data allows consumers to more clearly understand the power usage in real time, giving
consumers an unprecedented device power usage experience.
