Overview: This course introduces Linux based on the Taishan School learning approach, following Master Wu's Linux tutorial.
It includes a Bilibili video tutorial, "[Free Learning Training Camp Opening Live Replay] LCSC Taishan School RK3566 Linux Development Board,"
and a detailed documentation tutorial for LCSC development boards using the Taishan School.
A beginner's guide to common pitfalls
: 1. Encountering problems during environment setup: Installing VMbox 7.0.16 (blindly choosing a higher version due to overconfidence) resulted in
system crashes
and
restarts, almost leading to giving up.
Finally, with advice from group members, I followed the videos and documentation diligently, and successfully compiled all Linux components. Hmm... you should listen to advice...
2. I followed the steps for common Linux commands, Linux device trees, and touch drivers, and the process went relatively smoothly [with a bit of luck]. I successfully powered on the 3.1-inch MIPI screen. After that, the tutorials were mostly about Android. I tried manually creating a root file system, but the boot process got stuck at the boot image and then stopped. As a newbie, I don't understand why. I'm noting this down and will explore it later. Sigh... Anyway, I should take advice; my thin and light laptop can't handle Android. It's frustrating, I need to consider getting a new setup.
3. Soldering was so challenging this time!!! The FPC socket is incredibly difficult to solder, especially FPC1. I was lucky enough to solder it successfully the first time, but then, being a perfectionist, I noticed it was slightly crooked and thought I'd fix it with a soldering iron. That's when I completely broke down—the socket melted! I had to start all over again. The nightmare began. Soldering one, either the connector was broken, or the connector looked fine but the ribbon cable wouldn't fit. 1 2 3 4 5 Nervously until the last one, I luckily managed to salvage one using a hair dryer; unexpectedly, the hair dryer worked surprisingly well... To protect this last survivor, I applied tape and gave it a thorough treatment.
A pitiful group photo—let's
encourage each other. 4. Let's take a shortcut; what can I do, my laptop is so unreliable; let's flash the official Android firmware and try it out.
5. Looking forward to more Linux tutorials in the future...
