In the industrial production process, toxic gas poisoning incidents occur from time to time, which has attracted people's attention to life safety and health. The market demand for portable toxic gas detection solutions has increased rapidly. This type of detector is small, lightweight and easy to carry around. It can detect the concentration of dangerous gas CO exposed in the environment and clearly read the gas concentration, peak value and high and low concentration alarm levels. If the current high and low gas concentration values exceed the preset limits, the instrument will alert the user with sound and light alarms. Most portable low-power toxic gas detectors are based on electrochemical sensors and cover most common gases in industrial environments, such as carbon monoxide (CO), sulfur dioxide (SO2), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), and nitrogen dioxide ( NO2). This reference design provides a carbon monoxide gas detection solution based on Analog Devices' ADuCM360 MCU. This solution has the characteristics of low power consumption, low cross-sensitivity, and excellent long-term stability, making it very suitable for battery-powered portable applications.
ADuCM360 is a low-power precision analog microcontroller integrating ARM CORTEX M3 and dual-channel Σ-Δ ADC.
