45W 19V Adapter Reference Board with 700V CoolMOS™P7 Superjunction MOSFET in SOT-223 Package

This 45W adapter reference board is designed to be a form, fit and functional test platform for low-cost charger applications to demonstrate the state-of-the-art 700V CoolMOS™ P7 Super Junction (SJ) MOSFETIPN70R600P7S in SOT-223 packaging. The reference adapter board is designed to fit into an extremely small form factor while featuring high efficiency, low standby power and various protection modes to achieve a highly reliable system. The board passes EMI (conducted and radiated), ESD immunity and surge testing and is ready for production after final verification by the customer with a small number of changes.
The reference circuit board shows how the SOT-223 package can be used to meet thermal requirements in a smaller package size. By switching from FullPAK packaging to SOT-223 in the adapter design, overall system cost can be reduced by reducing the amount of manual assembly. There is no need to mount the MOSFET to a heat sink, and the device can be placed in an automated SMD process.
