Based on sw3556 up to 140w high power fast charging protocol module

 
Overview

1. Product Introduction:
A maximum 140w dual C-port protocol fast charging module designed based on Zhirong sw3556. C+C any port fast charging output, using external dual N power tubes, load capacity up to 7A, supports multiple fast charging protocols such as PPS/ PD/ QC/ AFC/ FCP/ SCP/ PE/ SFCP/TFCP. Because the verification board layout is relatively loose.
 
2. Application scenario:
mobile phone charging. Mobile phones are one of the most commonly used electronic devices today, and their battery capacity is limited and requires frequent charging. Fast charging can charge the phone quickly in a short time, improving the convenience of use.
Laptop charging. Laptops often have larger battery capacities, but they also need to be charged. Fast charging allows laptops to charge quickly in a short time, reducing waiting time.
Desktop power supply. It is a device that can provide power to electronic devices through wires. Use the fast charging module with deception and other other solutions to achieve precise output control.
Charge other electronic devices. In addition to mobile phones, laptops and cameras, fast charging modules can also be used to charge other electronic devices, such as tablets, smart watches, etc.
 
3. Product Overview
The buck converter adopts PFM/PWM automatic switching mode. It works in PFM mode at light load and in PWM mode at medium load and heavy load.
The buck converter includes input overvoltage/input undervoltage/output overvoltage/output undervoltage/output overcurrent/output short circuit protection.
Each Type-C port supports PPS/ PD3.0/ PD2.0/ QC5/ QC4+/ QC3+/ QC3.0/ QC2.0/ AFC/ FCP/ SCP/ PE2.0/PE1.1/SFCP/TFCP fast charging output.
By default, the dual Type-C ports have no output. When using single port output, it supports fast charging output. When dual-port output is used, it supports 5V output, and each port has independent current limit.
When a UFP device is connected, the Type-C port is opened for external discharge. When the UFP device is removed, the Type-C port is closed. At the same time, when the Type-C port is unloaded, the Type-C port channel will also be closed. No-load detection current gate 10mA.
The output voltage supports 5V/9V/12V/15V/20V, and the maximum output power is 140W (20V@7A).

5. Instructions for use
 This module is designed with reference to the official schematic diagram. No procedures are required, and it can be used immediately after powering on.
When welding the main control chip in a QFN package, please use a heating table or hot air gun (sensitive font).
Be careful to distinguish components with positive and negative poles to avoid short circuits.
Please do not check whether there is a short circuit before powering on to avoid chip burnout! ! !
 When the board temperature is high when the power is fully loaded, a heat sink or other heat dissipation solution must be installed.
 
6. Remarks:
Anti-reverse connection design has been added to the design, but it is best not to connect it reversely to avoid irreversible consequences.
 The PCB board size is 47*80mm and can be retrofitted using a male mold 80*20*50mm shell.
Try to use solid capacitors to improve efficiency.
 When the input voltage is lower than 30V, the input capacitor's withstand voltage must be 35V or above; when the input voltage is higher than 36V, the input capacitor's withstand voltage must be 50V or above.
For NMOS, it is recommended to use NMOS with internal resistance less than 10mohm. When the output voltage supports 20V output, NMOS with Vds voltage resistance of 30V must be selected.
The inductor uses 22uH inductance, and it is recommended that the rated current of the inductor be above 7A.
The cost of replicating this solution is about 30. Chip: 11 yuan + NMOS: 5 yuan + other resistors and capacitors: 15 yuan.
 
7. Test video:
In the test video, the 20v@7A gear is tricked into the 140w load test.
