6N137+ EG2104 driver circuit

Overview
Referring to the example design in the EG2104 datasheet, a high-speed optocoupler 6N137S was used to isolate the input PWM signal from the driver side, preventing damage to the microcontroller due to burnt-out MOSFETs and driver circuitry.

Based on actual testing, it was found that the original PC817 optocoupler could not provide complete signal transmission. After consulting the datasheet and other materials, it was deduced that the PC817's operating frequency was insufficient for high-frequency PWM signal transmission. Therefore, the high-speed optocoupler 6N137S was replaced, resulting in the two complementary output waveforms measured in Figure 1.

Figure 1. Waveforms of the two complementary outputs of the EG2104 tested in practice.

The driver circuit also has two MOSFETs reserved to form a half-bridge circuit; if only the drive signal is needed, it can be brought out from the "HO" and "LO" pin headers.
