REF_ICL8810_LED_42W_PSR This 42 W reference design uses Infineon's high power factor flyback controller ICL8810. The evaluation board is a constant voltage (CV) secondary side regulation (SSR) system designed for use with a constant current (CC) converter for LED lighting applications.
Compared with SSR, PSR has obvious cost advantages. The design eliminates the need for components such as optocouplers, voltage references, and error amplifiers. Therefore, the REF_ICL8810_LED_42W_PSR is more cost-effective and an ideal solution for LED on/off drivers or LED drivers with dimming levels as low as 5%.
The evaluation board provides excellent accuracy of ±3.5% over the 10% to 100% output power range.
With its benchmark power factor correction and total harmonic distortion performance at full and light load conditions, the ICL8810 supports window driver and platform designs. In addition, the IC combines excellent efficiency with low EMI characteristics without compromising light quality.
