The ADSP-CM40X series of processor chips are the latest products launched by ADI based on the ARM Cortex M4 core. The product's processor has a main frequency of up to 240Mhz, integrates a high-performance 16bits ADC, harmonic analysis engine (HAE) and rich memory and external interface resources. It is very suitable for medium and low-voltage relay protection products, distribution automation terminals, and motors. Servo drive control and other applications.
This reference design helps users evaluate the functions and performance of ADSP-CM40x and quickly develop products such as distribution automation terminals and power quality analysis devices with ADSP-CM40x as the core. The design scheme adopts a minimum protection system for distribution automation. After the external three-phase voltage, three-phase current and zero-sequence current signals are transformed by the voltage transformer (PT) and current transformer (CT), the signal conditioning circuit is transformed through the precision amplifier AD8604. The output of the conditioning circuit is synchronously sampled by two high-performance 16-bit SAR structure ADCs inside the ADSP-CM408F to achieve synchronous sampling of voltage and current in the same phase. The measured ENOB of a single sampling channel (including amplification circuit) can reach 13 bits. The sampled values of voltage and current are sent to the harmonic analysis engine (HAE) of ADSP-CM408F, which can analyze up to the 56th harmonic (based on the 50Hz fundamental wave) of the original sampled values of voltage and current.
Since voltage transformers and current transformers are added to the hardware and 3-phase voltage and current sampling and harmonic analysis are implemented in the software, this reference platform is particularly suitable for low-voltage power protection devices and distribution network automation mid-range DTU/FTU , motor protectors, power quality analysis devices and other fields of reference for manufacturers.
