Overview

This 8W auxiliary SMPS reference design operates over a wide input range and is considered for indoor residential air conditioning applications. It uses the new ICE5AR4770BZSPWM fixed frequency CoolSET™ with a 700V integrated MOSFET in a DIP-7 package.

Feature description

Flyback topology with dual isolated outputs
100kHz switching frequency, discontinuous current mode design
85~265V AC wide range input
Output No. 1: 12V / 0.45A
Output No. 2: 5V / 0.5A

Summary of advantages

The frequency decreases from medium load to light load and the efficiency is higher.
Low cost and simplified EMI
Low no-load backup power 35mW @230VAC
